After opening the link above, you will see a page as shown below.

You can select a cylinder according to your requirements — whether you need a rod cylinder, guided cylinder, or rotary cylinder.

Let’s consider an example: we need to push a 100 kg bulky part a distance of 250 mm from its initial position. The mounting angle is 0 degrees, and the part must reach the position within 2 seconds. A rod cylinder will work for this case.

Based on this scenario, we can click on the “Double-acting cylinder” option.

On the second page, you can fill in all the parameters according to the situation described above.

After entering all the parameters, simply click “Simulate” and the tool will recommend the most optimal solution based on your input.

As shown in the image above, Festo provides three types of solutions:

1. Exact Solution – Based on your exact inquiry, with minimal margin of error.
2. Economical Variant – A cost-efficient option that meets your requirements using the most competitively priced products.
3. Performance Variant – Designed to deliver the highest power and performance, suitable when you require an additional safety margin.

Once you choose your preferred solution, click “Download Report” to open a new window.

You can fill in the form with your project details to generate linked documentation for your project. Then, click “Continue.”

In this documentation, you will find all the technical information you or your engineer might need when discussing the project with your end user.

The most important section in this documentation is the “System Components,” which lists the recommended Festo parts for your project. For example, when downloading the report for the Exact Solution, you will see a detailed item list as shown below.

Here, you can find every component required for your project, complete with quantities — very convenient, right?

Conclusion

As you can see, calculating your pneumatic components for a project is simple and efficient with this tool.
